jpg For those who like a little pig with their pinot, swine with their sauvignon blanc or boar with their Bordeaux, prepare to go hog wild. Tickets are now on sale for the Austin Food Wine Alliance?s 2nd Annual Wine Swine taking place on November 4th. A dozen central Texas chefs, including Bryce Gilmore of Barley Swine, Jack Gilmore of Jack Allen?s Kitchen, John Bates of Noble Pig, and James Holmes of Olivia, will each prepare pork-themed dishes to raise funds for culinary grants. A variety of wines, beers, spirits and live music by Warren Hood The Goods will accompany the innovative bites at this fall sip-and-stroll. To up the ante, attendees will have the chance to vote via Twitter and text for their favorite pig plate to determine which chef receives a $1,000 prize and all the pig roasting glory.

The Austin Food Wine Alliance is a non-profit dedicated to bringing awareness and innovation to the Central Texas food and beverage community. In 2012, the program will grant $20,000 to chefs, farmers and artisans focused on culinary advancement and charity.

The event will take place at Pioneer Farms, a historic 90-acre farm just north of Austin. Tickets are on sale now, and expected to sell out, for the early bird price of $75, with tickets at the door going for $95.
