A Quick Overview Of Real Estate Torrevieja ? Finance ...

business_law.jpg

Torrevieja, Spain is a great place to vacation and retire. real estate in Torrevieja is a great investment. Here are some factors to consider when searching for real estate here.

There are many options to consider when purchasing real estate here, so take your time. Visit this region several times to get a feel for what it is like during various times of the year. When you do so, stay in several types of accommodations: For example, stay in a villa one time and in an apartment the next. These accommodations should be in different locations so you know what different neighborhoods are like. Never buy a parcel without seeing it first.

When you consider each neighborhood, notice its amenities: Are there stores, attractions, churches and medical facilities nearby? Are the neighbors friendly? Are there good utilities? How is the crime rate? Is the property near the Alicante Airport? Is it too near the airport for comfort? The sound of aircraft landing and taking off constantly can be jarring.

If you are planning to use the property year round or rent it out, be sure the parcel has an adequate heating and cooling system. If you are considering an apartment, does it have a lot of steps? It may not be a problem now, but imagine negotiating those same steps with a lot of luggage and groceries. If you will rent out the site, how will you maintain it?

As you consider properties, be prepared for ?sticker shock?. Real estate prices are at nearly record highs. Buyers in Europe may be able to qualify for loans from companies based in Spain or in their home countries. It is best to compare interest rates and other loan details for companies in Spain and at home to find the best deal.

If you are not a Spanish resident, it is best to work with an attorney well-versed in Spanish real estate law when buying your property. The attorney can guide you through the intricate international real estate process. Be sure to hire an attorney who speaks fluently in Spanish and in your native language to be sure he or she is working in your best interests. Do not simply use the attorney recommended by your real estate agent. While most agents and attorneys are honest, there have been cases of agents and attorneys teaming up, to the buyer?s disadvantage.

In order to get the purchase process started, you will need your passport, payroll stubs, income tax receipts and bank statements. Depending on your country of origin, you may need other documentation as well. Be sure collect these items as you proceed with the purchase.

Once you?ve gone through the maze of a real estate purchase, you will see that your venture in real estate Torrevieja was well worth the effort.

Q&A: Will I ever love him? | Relationships

Question by : Will I ever love him?
I am an 18 year old female. In eighth grade I introduced myself to my best friend?s cousin. He lives, and always have lived, 2 hours away from me. We talked on myspace until the fall of my sophomore year in highschool, where my mom brought me to his house to meet him, and his family, in person. The night i met him, we went on our first date to his homecoming. He also went to mine, shortly after. And, also, he was my surprise at my 16th surprise birthday party. But, the night of my homecoming he asked me to be his girlfriend and, even though I really really like the boy, I was scared to say yes because he told me he loved me. I wasn?t ready to hear the L word at sixteen. Ive never had an official relationship. I?ve never been in love. We ended up staying ?just friends? for years, after that! Which seemed good for me until, a year ago, he tried to move on. He dated a girl for almost a whole year. I kept my mouth shut, but deep down, i was sad and jealous of his new relationship because i used to have feelings for him and felt like they were coming back. Ever since we?ve be we?ve referred to each other as ?best friends? even though, five years later, he claims, and I KNOW and believe him that to him, i?m not just a best friend. To him, im the love of his life. He realized his love for me after trying to move on with another girl. He is head over heels in love and claims that he won?t stop loving me until I?m walking down the aisle with another man. This past june was my highschool graduation party. He is a DJ so i asked him to DJ the party. When he came to the party we reconnected. My friends and family said how obvious it was that he like me because ?he couldnt take his eyes off me the whole night?. We ended up hanging out often this summer. His girlfriend (who was always arguing with him) for month and month broke up with him and HE was the one who had to chase her back to ?fix things.? But this summer, she broke up with him yet again, and, this time, he had it. He didn?t chase her back even though ten mins later his girl went chasing him back. But, he chose me. They ended thing on a good note, thankfully, and agreed to stay friends. Now, MY DILEMMA. I am dating my best friend of five years :) Lol it seems funny to actually say that. But, I CANT commit to him. We have almost everything in common. He seems to be the perfect guy. He doesnt smoke, drink, do drugs, doesnt fight, he adores me, treats me right, calls me every night, etc etc. He is so good to me, but, for some reason i dont feel like im ?In love? with him. Ive never told him i love him. But i love him in a caring way. We have been in a ?secret relationship? these past few months, although, all of my family and friends call him my boyfriend, and he is not. MY DILEMMA IS THAT I DONT WANT MY FIRST BOYFRIEND TO BE A LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP. I DONT WANT TO COMMIT TO HIM BECAUSE, IF I DO, I AM PRETTY MUCH COMMITTING TO MARRIAGE BECAUSE HE WANTS TO MARRY ME AND HAVE CHILDREN WITH ME. This ?relationship? with him these past few months have been great but sometimes i feel that i miss him when he is away but, when im with him, he feels like a great friend (that i kiss and hold hands with?) We spend nights together. We arent sexually active but we do sleep in the same bed during our sleepovers. I really wish i could commit to him and call him my boyfriend but at the same time i want to keep my options open. We have our whole lives ahead of us. I believe that i will never find love, to him, or to anyone, if i dont date other people. Although, the sucky part about even CONSIDERINGG to JUST stay friends scares me. I couldnt imagine my life without talking to him everyday. Ugh. Will I ever love him the way he loves me? Im thinking about going to counseling. But, id love to hear others opinions because i love yahoo answers lol. Any insight could help. Thanks.

Kuwaiti firm: Carlyle Group acted without license

KUWAIT CITY (AP) ? A Kuwaiti company suing the Carlyle Group over a $25 million investment that went bad is now accusing the private equity firm of marketing the deal without a license as it seeks to have its case heard in Kuwaiti courts.

The latest claim by Kuwait's National Industries Group adds a new twist to its more than two-and-a-half year legal challenge to Carlyle, and could complicate the American company's relationships with other wealthy Mideast investors.

NIG's lawsuit focuses on a Carlyle investment fund that was one of the earliest casualties of the financial crisis when it collapsed in 2008. The fund has been the subject of multiple lawsuits against Washington-based Carlyle.

In a motion filed this month with a Delaware court hearing the case, NIG argues that the dispute should be heard in Kuwait because Carlyle lacked the legal basis to pitch the deal there in the first place.

Selling foreign securities or shares in investment funds in Kuwait requires a license from local authorities, according to a declaration by lawyer Ahmed Zakaria Abdel-Magied filed by NIG attorneys. He added that marketing such investments without a license makes the underlying deal invalid.

NIG said Sunday it believes it is entitled to the return of its $25 million investment under Kuwaiti law.

"Carlyle was more than happy to conduct its sales presentations in Kuwait and close its deals in Kuwait," NIG's general manager, Ahmed Hassan, said in a statement. "But now that the moment has come to deal with the ugly aftermath ... Carlyle would prefer to try its luck in Delaware."

Carlyle has tried hard to woo clients in the oil-rich Gulf Arab states. It opened an office in the Mideast financial hub of Dubai in 2006, and its shareholders include Mubadala Development Co., an investment company owned by the United Arab Emirates capital, Abu Dhabi.

The Carlyle fund involved in the Kuwait case, known as Carlyle Capital Corp. Ltd., went bust in March 2008. It used high levels of debt to invest in securities backed by bundles of home mortgages that had been given a seemingly safe AAA rating by credit rating agencies.

Carlyle declined to comment on the case Sunday. It has previously said it will fight NIG's suit.

"We believe these claims are without merit and intend to vigorously contest all such allegations and are currently unable to anticipate what impact they may have on us," Carlyle said in its most recent quarterly report, filed on Aug. 14.

Private equity firms such as Carlyle raise money from big investors and then use that money to invest in companies or other investments. The industry is under close scrutiny because of the U.S. presidential election and presumed Republican nominee Mitt Romney's former role as an executive at another private equity firm, Bain Capital.

Kuwait's NIG started out in the 1960s as a building materials company and later began investing across a range of industries.

It is partly backed by the Kharafi clan, one of Kuwait's most prominent merchant families. A branch of the Kuwaiti government, the Public Institution for Social Security, is a minority investor.

Like many Gulf companies, it has struggled to meet its debt obligations in the wake of the financial crisis. Faced with a looming $475 million loan repayment due earlier this month, it approached its lenders about reworking the terms on the debt so it could repay over a longer period.

Just days before the Aug. 16 repayment deadline came due, NIG announced it was calling off the effort to adjust the repayment terms because it had managed to line up new financing.

Sponsors stand by Armstrong, despite doping accusations

Lance Armstrong could lose millions in winnings and endorsements fees if he is stripped of his racing titles, but so far his major sponsors say they have no intention of dropping Armstrong, largely because of his work with the Livestrong Foundation.

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency today banned Armstrong from the sport for his alleged use of illegal performance enhancing drugs and said it expects cycling's governing body, the International Cycling Union, to strip Armstrong of his titles. USADA said they could require Armstrong to return millions of dollars in cash prizes that he has won since 1998.

The Tour de France awards the winner about 450,000 euros plus bonuses, which for Armstrong means he could lose at least $4 million as a seven-time champion.

However, a source close to Armstrong said it remains to be seen whether Armstrong will lose his titles.

"The status of various titles, and financial awards, is really not up to USADA. The governing bodies of each of the respective races will have to decide whether they are going to respect USADA's rulings. So all of that remains to be seen at this point," the source said.

The organizer of the Tour de France, Amaury Sport Organization, is not commenting about the USADA's statements.

Armstrong retired last year and has been since racing in triathlons.

Previously had an annual income of $500,000, according to Sports Illustrated's Fortunate 50 rankings from 2004 and 2005. He is believed to be worth $100 million.

His foundation, Livestrong, is standing staunchly beside him.

"With his help, the foundation has raised close to $500 million to further the fight against cancer and serve those affected by the disease," vice chairman and founding chairman of the Lance Armstrong Foundation Jeffery C. Garvey said in a statement on Thursday.

Garvey said Armstrong "personally contributed nearly $6.5 million to propel his foundation's services to cancer survivors and their families."

The sponsors of Armstrong and his foundation are also not wavering.

A spokesman for Nike provided a statement, saying: "We are saddened that Lance Armstrong may no longer be able to participate in certain competitions and his titles appear to be impacted. Lance has stated his innocence and has been unwavering on this position. Nike plans to continue to support Lance and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, a foundation that Lance created to serve cancer survivors."

Nike, which will not release figures for their athlete endorsements, is Armstrong's major sponsor.

Forbes, however, estimates that Armstrong could lose at least $50 million in product endorsements over the next five years.

But no one has announced they are backing out yet.

Paul Chibe, vice president of U.S. marketing for Anheuser-Busch, which is a named sponsor of Livestrong, said, "Our partnership with Lance remains unchanged."

"He has inspired millions with his athletic achievement and his commitment to helping cancer survivors and their families," Chibe said in a statement.

Trek, the bike company with whom Armstrong has a sponsorship agreement, said it is analyzing the situation and following developments. The company also sells two fitness-style bikes that are branded "Livestrong."

Len Zanni, vice president of marketing for Honey Stinger, another sponsor of the foundation is remaining as a sponsor.

"Lance Armstrong is a member of our ownership team and he has played an important part in Honey Stinger's growth," Zanni said in a statement. "We look forward to working with him in this capacity to help increase our sales and build our brand. Additionally, we will continue our support of the Lance Armstrong Foundation as a sponsor of the Livestrong Challenge Series.
